Karzero is a small, deliberate team building India's first zero-charge lending platform. We hire when a role can be defended in a single sentence — and when the person can defend their work in another.

  • 01 · Engineering

    Full-time

    Senior product engineer

    Mumbai · hybrid

    Own end-to-end product surfaces in the customer + agent portals. Next.js, TypeScript, strong eye for typography and spacing. You have shipped something you are proud of.

  • 02 · Credit & risk

    Full-time

    Credit policy lead

    Mumbai

    Design and own the underwriting model that decides who Karzero will absorb charges for. 7+ years at a bank, NBFC, or fintech risk team. You can defend a decline with one sentence.

  • 03 · Operations

    Full-time

    City launch manager

    Bengaluru · on-site

    Take Karzero into a new metro: recruit the first 50 agents, sign the first 3 lender partners, run the first 100 disbursals. You have done a 0→1 launch before.

  • 04 · Design

    Karzero is a written voice and an editorial system. Write that system into the marketing site, the product, and the print collateral. Strong type sense. Indian context literate.

    Sit between Karzero and the regulator. Lending Service Provider operating under the 2022 Digital Lending Guidelines. Bar Council member, 5+ years in BFSI compliance.

II.How we work

Four principles that shape what we build, who we hire, and what we will not do.

  • i.

    Customers pay zero — always.

    Every internal decision, every roadmap, every feature flag is judged against this one line. If a feature pushes a charge back onto the customer, it does not ship.

  • ii.

    Tell the math.

    No marketing without disclosure. Our P&L is publishable. We open the books once a month at the Karzero Ledger — and we write the explainer to go with it.

  • iii.

    Indian by default.

    We build for ₹20,000 disbursals in Kanpur, not just ₹20 Lakh disbursals in Mumbai. Devanagari renders. Auto-debits work on every bank, including small co-ops.

  • iv.

    Hire deliberately.

    A small team that ships ten times what a large team ships. You will have outsized ownership. You will also be expected to write — internally and externally.

III.The interview

Four steps, two weeks

We do not believe in seven-round interviews. The whole process is four conversations and lands in two weeks if there are no scheduling conflicts.

  1. I.Intro — 30 minutesFounder or department lead. We get your story; you get ours. No surprises about pay, equity, or growth.
  2. II.Craft conversation — 60 minutesWalk us through one piece of work you shipped — code, a policy doc, a launch plan, a brand system. We ask why, not what.
  3. III.Paid work trial — 1 dayA real problem from our current week. You are paid at your daily rate. We send back the same artifact we asked you for.
  4. IV.Offer — 48 hoursWritten offer with the full pay band, equity slab, and what the first 90 days look like. Yes or no inside a week.
